Niseko getting around

Niseko is four resorts in one: Hanazone, Annupuri, Higashiyama and Hirafu, linked by shuttle buses during the season, approximately November till April.

A free bus operates if holding an All Mountain Pass, while a Shuttle Bus provides lift access and transport for visitors around Hirafu village.
Kutchan Go Bus is a free nightly service that runs between Hirafu and Kutchan up until around 11.30pm, perfect for those who like an evening out.

There are plenty of taxis available if the buses aren’t too convenient, or if you want to travel in a little more luxury.
Its possible to hire cars if you have an international driving licence, but most companies advise against this, not just because of the expense, but also because driving in snow is hazardous for those who aren’t used to it. Niseko’s snow is largely powdery, which is particularly difficult for driving.

Walking is also a good way of getting around in such a picturesque setting, and most of the distances around Niseko are easily manageable.
